National Apprenticeship Week is in its sixth year and is designed to celebrate apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the economy.
Alliance Homes' own apprenticeship scheme has gone from strength to strength. It has helped to develop a pool of future talent, with many of the apprentices moving into new roles and progressing through the organisation. Abigail Nicholas is one of the many success stories; she joined Alliance Homes as an apprentice and was highly commended by the judges in the Voluntary Sector Learner of the Year award at Weston College's Excellence in Business Training awards. Abigail has now gone on to gain a permanent role in the Community Engagement Team.
Michael Williams, Business Enterprise Manager, said: "One of our key objectives is to build stronger communities and our apprenticeship scheme provides us with an effective employment model that helps us to meet this objective. Young people can learn skills, gain experience and develop their confidence, and we are able to invest in the future."
