Paul Raymond, the College's Music Curriculum Manager, is launching the showcase event at Weston's Live Lounge, West Street, on Thursday February 28.
The evening will feature young musicians from the College's music courses, as well as Performing Arts students.
Any local comedians willing to help out will also have the chance to perform their set at a specially recorded 'screen test' at the College's University Campus, after which they will be able to take away a DVD of their performance.
Paul said: "We're keen to engage with all the local talent we have in Weston and we thought this would be a great opportunity for up-and-coming comedians to try out their material, both to camera and a live audience.
"We're hoping to recruit enough acts to make this a regular event, and we'd love to hear from anybody who thinks they can make people laugh for five minutes."
· If you're a comedian and would like to perform alongside Weston College students on February 28, please contact Paul Raymond on 01934 411677.
