The Childrens Hospice South West charity Firewalk took take place at Charlton Farm nr Nailsea at 8pm on Tuesday 9th October 2012. Originally planned for Weston-super-Mare beach at 7pm it was to host a beach party complete with fireworks, BBQ and fire throwing displays to keep spectators entertained on the night. This however had to be cancelled due to flooding on the beach from heavy rain over the last few days and the venue was changed at the final hour to their own site at Charlton Farm.

CHSW invited people to sign up to take part in the event to face their fears, achieve what doesn't seem possible or remember a loved one.
This would have been the second time CHSW had held a Firewalk on Weston's beach. Last year's event attracted over 50 participants and raised £10,000 for the charity.
The evening started with an inspiring seminar in a private room before participants walked up to the 800 degrees centigrade burning embers, some walking brisquely accross whilst some walked a little more tentatively, many though could not wait to walk around and have another go, several volunteers completing it three or four times and appearing to thoroughly enjoy it.
