Two Weston College students are looking forward to the finals of Weston's Got Talent next month following their success in the qualifying heats.

Jordan Gulvin, 20, and Rich Pedler, 19, wowed judges recently by their highly individual performances, winning them both a place in the finals in February.

Jordan, a Performing Arts student, almost didn't take part but once he was on stage, stunned the audience with a memorable performance of Donna Summer's disco classic 'I Feel Love'.

Rich, meanwhile, impressed everyone with a display of beatboxing skills that marked him out as one of the unique talents of the night.

The pair will perform at Weston-super-Mare's Blakehay Theatre on February 22 and each is hoping to be placed highly.

Jordan said: "I just went down to watch and give Rich some support and I got persuaded into doing it just for fun. I gave it all I had, and then I left because I thought I wouldn't get through. I was absolutely amazed when I heard that I had!"

Rich said: "I've been beatboxing now for about six or seven years and I just improvised during the heats. Now I'm working on a routine, after a few suggestions from my mum!"

Weston College tutor Leigh Murray went to the heats at Weston Town Museum to support the pair. He said: "They both performed fantastically and we're hoping they will both do well in the finals. There can only be one winner, but they're both wishing each other the best of luck. Getting through has really boosted their confidence."
