THE WINTER Gardens in Weston-super-Mare is to stage a Spring Showcase open day to allow the community to tour its upgraded facilities.
The Spring Showcase will be held on Thursday May 17, from 5pm-9pm, giving residents the chance to view the latest facilities on offer since Parkwood Leisure took over its management in 2011.
The Winter Gardens built in 1927, has seen a dramatic transformation over the past year with a new Tourist Information Centre, upgraded bars and restaurants, and brand new for summer 2012, the Kids Hut adventure play area for the under 5's.
The new Tourist Information Centre was created following a move from Pier Square and now offers a Visitors Information Point, a café, free Internet access, as well as souvenirs and gifts.
As one of the largest venues in the South West, the Spring Showcase provides a great opportunity to tour the extensive Winter Gardens facilities and meet exhibitors from a range of event services.
Peter Undery, general manager, said: "The Winter Gardens has an incredible history and we want to invite the public and local businesses to come see just how much it has to offer in 2012.
"As well as housing the new Tourist Information Centre for all your travel and accommodation needs, we cater for all types of events for up to 1,000 guests.
"We stage over 1,000 events a year including shows and concerts, weddings and conferences.
"In addition to the iconic Grand Ballroom, there are numerous smaller function rooms as well as private bars and cafes.
"Come and see the rooms set up, tour the exhibition and meet the experts who can help you plan anything from a small party to a large conference."
