Grand Pier Firework Disappointment Leads to Free Display in Weston-super-Mare

The Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare is hosting a free fireworks display following their "disappointing" display on bonfire night.

Pier owners Kerry and Michelle Michael have decided to offer a free firework night on November 20.

It follows claims they the display was "disappointing" and "too short."

In a statement the pier said: "Last Saturdays firework display was not up to Grand Pier's exacting standards.

"As a result, Pier management have decided to stage a "Free Firework Display" for everyone to enjoy on Sunday 20th November starting at 6.30pm.

"It promises to be a real spectacle and it will be the largest display anywhere in the south west.

"We hope everyone can come along and enjoy the show."
