A NEW music event could be winging its way to Weston-super-Mare this summer to replace the axed T4 on the Beach concert.

In the pop pipeline a replacement for the popular T4?
Channel 4 announced last year that it was to pull the plug on the annual beach music extravaganza which had been a major highlight in the resort's summer calendar since 2005.
Now council leaders have revealed they are in negotiations with another major television company which wants to put on a major music event on the sands.
And this event is promised to be bigger and better with major names from the world of music due to roll up in the resort to perform.
The music event will take place once again on the beach with tens of thousands of party goers expected to attend and is expected to happen in July.
No further details of who is behind the new music event have been released, but an announcement is expected in the next few weeks.
A council spokesman said the authority was currently in negotiations with the event organiser.
The council spokesman added: ""T4 was massively popular and bought an enormous amount of people into the town and we are delighted that this new event will replace it."
The T4 on the Beach concert was screened live from the sands of Weston to a worldwide audience .
Channel 4 is planning to replace the programme, which has been running since 1988, with a new Friday night music show instead.
The show also provided a massive boost for local businesses, injecting an estimated £5 million into the local economy over the concert weekend in the summer.
This year's T4 on the Beach saw a plethora of stars take to a massive stage on the beach including X Factor judge Tulisa, Rita Ora and Rizzle Kicks.
