As a teenager, Nicole Walker announced to a friend that she wanted to work at the Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel.
The pair were walking past the premises when the ambition was revealed by a young Nicole.
Within a few years her dream came true and she was given her first job at the hotel on College Green.
Nicole, of Nailsea, later went to the Cardiff Marriott before spending two years with Princess Cruises. She returned to Bristol and the Marriott family as events co-ordinator at its City Centre property, next to Cabot Circus.
Now, at the age of 26, she is back at the Royal, having been appointed sales co-ordinator for both the Bristol Marriotts.
Nicole is a former student of Nailsea School and one of two daughters of Nailsea Town Council's assistant clerk, Sue Walker.
She said: "I was about 15 when my friend and I went past the Royal and I announced I wanted to work there one day. My first job in the hotel involved working on the front desk. As sales co-ordinator, my role includes marketing and public relations."
As well as a new job, Nicole has also taken up a new hobby of running and has already completed the Bristol 10k and Cancer Research UK's Race for Life, raising nearly £200 for charity.
She was also part of the Bristol Marriott hotels' 17-strong team who completed the Three Peaks Challenge in June in aid of the Prince's Trust's Fairbridge programme for disadvantaged youngsters.
