The group of 30 people, all of whom are connected with older persons' organisation Age UK (Somerset) came to the College for beauty and hair treatments by students and staff, plus a lunch in The Grove training restaurant.
This is the third year Weston College has worked with Age UK (Somerset) to bring local older people into the College for a pampering session to showcase their facilities, and welcome members of the public to enjoy a relaxing experience within The Hair, Beauty and Catering departments at its Knightstone Campus.
Recently, the Hairdressing and Beauty department was graded as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted inspectors who praised the top-quality teaching and learning.
Linda Jones, Community Development Worker for Age UK (Somerset), said the older people always enjoy their pampering experience.
She said: "This is a successful inter-generational project which helps to give young people awareness of working with older people, and it is an opportunity for a range of clients with differing needs to have a day out and enjoy socialising."
Rachel Harrison, Receptionist/Assessor in the Hairdressing and Beauty faculty, said she had received many complimentary comments from the clients following their treatments.
"The older people have really enjoyed their time here and it's a great experience for our students," she said. "We regularly have many local residents through our doors enjoying a variety of treatments in our outstanding facilities at very competitive rates."
