Rescue Teams Search For Missing Man in Weston-super-Mare Sea

RESCUE teams were called out after receiving reports of a man in the water off Weston-super-Mare seafront.

Weston and Clevedon coastguard and lifeboat crews were called to look for a man reported to be walking out to sea at about 6.45pm this evening (Tues).

They were joined by Avon Fire and Rescue Service hovercraft team to conduct a search of the shoreline from Knightstone Island to Uphill.

Despite the search rescue teams have been unable to locate the man, thought to be around 23-years and the search has been stood down.

The matter has been left in the hands of police.
