North Somerset Council's investment in its highway network continues with a road resurfacing scheme in Prospect Place in Weston-super-Mare from Monday, March 18.
Resurfacing a road is a far more cost-effective way to extend the lifespan of a road rather than reactive defect patching and pothole filling, say the council.
The roadworks will cover the whole length of Prospect Place from Orchard Street to Alfred Street.
The work will take five days and cost £9,500.
A diversion is along Orchard Street, Boulevard and Alfred Street as it will be necessary to close the road while this essential maintenance works is carried out.
In 2013-14 North Somerset Council will spend £6.6m on road maintenance and improvements, £1.9m more than it did in this financial year.
