LESSONS in chopstick techniques, delicious oriental food and colourful costumes were all part of the curriculum at Sidcot School in Winscombe to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Infant pupils dressed up in traditional red and black clothes, tucked into a Chinese buffet, learnt about customs and how the Year of the Snake came by its name.

Sidcot Junior School Headteacher Claire Lilley, said: "The reception class had their very own Chinese restaurant where they served up noodles and Dimsum

"It was a great opportunity for the children to find out about a different culture in a fun and exciting way."
