Have Your Say on Dog Control Orders

RESIDENTS in North Somerset are being encouraged to have their say on Dog Control orders.
North Somerset Council is planning to introduce new control orders across the district.
These will be in line with the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005, which requires dogs to be on leads, or alternatively, excluding dogs from specified areas.
The new orders are to extend existing dog control orders and replace any old district byelaws which restricted taking animals into particular areas.
Orders which are already in force relating to dog fouling are not changing and dog owners are reminded that they must clean up any dog faeces when in a public place and dispose of them in a suitable manner.
The council is encouraging people to get vocal and be heard and comment on these proposals from June 1 to 30.
A copy of the consultation document can be viewed at your local library from Friday June 1 or by visiting the council's website http://www.n-somerset.gov.uk/dogcontrolorders2012
