Hooray the biggest illuminated carnival in Europe is coming to Weston-super-Mare next week.
Crowds of thousands are expected to pack the streets of the resort for the parade on Friday, November 9.
This year the parade is being held on a Friday, rather than a Monday, due to a decision by Bridgwater Carnival to change its day.
It is hoped the change of day will bring even more people to the resort and make the evening more enjoyable for spectators without the need to think about school or work the next morning.
It is also hoped that the change in date will potentially encourage visitors to extend their stay over the weekend to enjoy Weston-super-Mare and other parts of the area.
The procession will begin at 7.15pm from Locking Road car park and then pass through Alexandra Parade, Alfred Street, along the Boulevard, Waterloo Street and South Parade, then along the seafront before ending in Carlton Street.
Road closures will be put in place at 6pm prompt to secure and clear the route.
Town centre car parks, with the exception of Locking Road, will be open and parking will also be available on the Beach Lawns from 2pm.
For the carnival procession to take place the route needs to be completely clear of vehicles by 5pm and any vehicles parked after this time will be removed.
Police no waiting cones will be put out on the roads affected by parking restrictions and there will be warning signs.
As all the floats will be leaving the town after the carnival Winterstoke Road outbound only, between Drove Road and Herluin Way, will be closed from 8pm to midnight.
People leaving the town centre are being asked to use alternative routes.
