WESTON College students raised concerns with Avon and Somerset's new Police Crime Commissioner, Sue Mountstevens about drug issues in the town and more police on the streets.

On Friday (November 30th) the newly-elected PCC listened to a group of Public and Uniformed Services students at one of her first engagements as commissioner.

The former magistrate and mother-of-three is set to present a report in early January about young peoples' concerns about crime

Weston College Strategic Lead for Student Services Tim Yeandle said:   "This visit followed the pre-election hustings with over 500 students on the 7th November and it was great for our students to pose testing questions to the now elected Police and Crime Commissioner."

Sue Mountstevens, 57, of Pill, who won 65 per cent of the votes as an independent candidate, said: "It is brilliant to have engaged with young people asking really insightful questions."
