Wendy's spirit wows judges to win top award

A member of staff from the region's premier four-star, boutique-style hotel has scooped a prestigious award run by the Hilton hotel group.

Wendy Stevens, who works as a food and beverage supervisor at DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury won the company's Spirit of Care Award following her exemplary service and commitment to both guests and her colleagues.
To gain the award, Wendy beat of stiff competition from some of the group's best employees which includes over 78,000 people across 25 countries.
Having worked at the hotel since 1995 Wendy has established a reputation as being the best in the business, particularly with companies and business people that use the award-winning venue for their meetings and conferences.
With a knack for making sure everything exceeds the client's expectations, Wendy often provides her personal mobile number so that those organising important conferences of meetings can get hold of her at any time – even when she's off duty.
She also regularly shops, in her own time, for guests which have special dietary requirements making sure they are well catered for.
Wendy's commitment doesn't stop with customers and clients of the North Somerset-based hotel with her colleagues also receiving the same level of care as paying guests. This includes things such as setting the staff dining room so that it's just as welcoming for the workers as it is for guests or visiting colleagues at home when they're not feeling too well.
