A record 2,000 visitors attended two open evenings at Weston College to look at full and part-time courses.

With nearly 30,000 enrolments, the College is celebrating 150 years of bringing education to the North Somerset community.

Principal and Chief Executive Dr Paul Phillips, OBE, said: "Weston College is one of the top performing colleges in the South West - 99.8% of college students passed their A Levels in 2012, while there was a 100% pass rate for vocational qualifications.

"As well as offering Degrees, with 20% of HE students achieving First Class Honours, we offer 28 A Levels, provide more than 100 vocational courses, over 50 apprenticeships and work with around 1,000 employers.

"It is thanks to the expertise of our staff that we can offer such consistently high teaching that makes Weston College so attractive."

One open evening visitor, Polly Tan, 15, of Worle Community School, was given a tour of the College's art facilities and won an IPad in the prize draw.
