What a summer it has been at Weston Sand Sculpture Festival; torrential rain, the beheading of our Queen, European Championship trophies and of course the 4,000 tonnes of sand transformed into giant works of art.

And take time out to enjoy a deckchair rest
Nearly 50.000 people have been flooding in to admire the sand sculptures, have their photo taken with the Queen, pose as Bolt on the Olympic Podium, participate in sculpting workshops or just kick back in the café with a drink and watch the sculptors at work.
After many requests the organisers have decided to stay open until the end of September to allow those that haven't yet made it to the festival the chance to see this world class exhibition.
Visitor Sophie Griggs, aged 22, said: "It would be such a shame if they are bulldozed to the ground before everyone has seen them.
"Let's face it, they won't get a second chance.
"I come along every year and would hate to miss it"
The festival is now open until Sunday, September 30, from Monday-Friday 10am-5pm and on Saturday and Sunday 10am-6pm.
Tickets are £3.50 for adults, £3 for concessions, £2 for children and £10 for families.
The festival is located between the seafront office and the SeaQuarium.
