Weston-super-Mare Charity Fashion Gala

The Chairman of North Somerset Council, Cllr Terry Porter, hosted a Fashion Gala at the Winter Gardens, Weston-super-Mare in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The gala was on Wednesday February 20 and started at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 and included goody bags with discount offers for all those attending. The evening was a great success and there were no empty chairs, calling for it to be repeated again maybe next year ! Host Cllr Terry Porter asked if people would be keen to attend again to a resounding shout of " YES" from the crowd...
"As well as raising money for charity, the show aims to promote local retailers, with a number of them unveiling their new spring collections, and also Weston College, with students showing their exciting new designs as well as doing the hair and make-up for the models," said Cllr Porter.
Hitting the catwalk the models showed off the latest in fashion and trends by well known retailers Marks and Spencer, Walker and Ling, CC, Viyella, Eastex, Dash and of the course the presentation of new designs by Weston College Design department degree students.
