Woman gets nose broken in daytime assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault when a woman was headbutted in Weston-super-Mare.
The incident occurred on Thursday, October 18, at approximately 2.40pm, near to the bus stop at the Maltlands.
The 21-year-old female victim was waiting for a bus when she saw a dispute between another man and a woman.
This man was verbally abusive to the woman and spat in her face.
The victim interjected and tried to take the woman away but the man continued to follow them and throw items at them.
As he caught up he headbutted the 21-year-old woman which resulted in her nose being broken.
A police spokesman said: "We believe there were a number of vehicles passing this area at the time and are interested in hearing from anyone who saw this incident developing.
"We are particularly interested in speaking to another man who was at the bus stop at the time of the incident and the driver of an orange Fiat vehicle who stopped and spoke to the victim and the other woman."
