WORK is due to start this month on installing new energy efficient traffic lights at a busy junction in Weston-super-Mare.
The traffic lights at Queensway Junction with Walford Avenue and New Bristol Road are due to be replaced with energy efficient low wattage LED units.
The work is to be carried out on September 11 and 12 and the lights will not be operating on these days.
The new lights, costing £18,500, will result in a 70 per cent reduction in energy and carbon emissions as well as a reduction in maintenance costs as the lamps will not need to be replaced annually.
