Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College’s November Bring a Parent to Cook Work shop in was another great success. This time a smaller group of year 7 and year 8 students came with a parent each. The group watched Miss Lee make shortcrust pastry for roasted vegetable pasties and tarts, followed by baked apple meringue clouds. The students and parents practiced new skills in the session and got some great new ideas for cooking at home. One parent said that she had been surprised, she had been reluctant to come to school for two hours, but the time passed very quickly and was really good fun.
There will not be a session next month but a festive chocolate log work shop after school for interested students.
