Running a guest house, you hear what visitors think about all sorts of things. Right now the conversation seems to be about the work along the seafront.
Some comment that it will look nice when it's finished whilst others say what a mess, it is like one big building site. The one big question everyone is asking is when will the pier be open?

Another talking point is the arch in front of Melrose car park, this morning one couple asked me, but what's it for? I told them that our local taxi divers think it is a Stargate, as in the TV series.

One question that keep being asked is why is the TIC building in the middle of a building site with barriers all the way around making entry to it so impossible especially if you want to gain access from the promenade.
