The carnival should be saved as it is a great event for families. I think more local businesses should help the carnival after all they do benefit from it the most !

You might be surprised to learn that only a certain type of local business benefit from the carnival - some have their business restricted because of it: that said, if all the certain type of local business' that do benefit all contributed, it would certainly help save it - also, if the illegal hawkers could be prevented from operating, this would also contribute.  It's very difficult to keep them away - how can a parent resist when something is put in their children's faces to buy? - who has time to check if they are legitimate and the proceeds are going to the carnival?  Our business is contributing and has done for a few years, even though there is no benefit to us other than happy to help.  The carnival could always do with more marshalls as well, so any volunteers would be very welcome.
