Whomever takes the renovation on should revert it back to what it was just bigger and better. Nobody wants another cinema, spa or hotel! I've had loads of people commenting on how they want it as a pool again, with water slides and wave machines!

Sedgemoor splash has shut down, Hutton Moor is more for schools and big events and other pools in the local area many of them you have to become a member paying large fees!

BRING BACK THE FUN! BRING BACK THE TROPICANA-REVAMPED!

Tropicana was once a great place to be with swimming and beauty competitions. How anyone can discuss the current proposals and all that wasted time money and then to just give up and blame it on the credit crunch and changes in the EU rules beggars belief.

Firstly Birse Coastal should be required to restore it to the condition it was in when they took occupation! It would appear that a fair amount of damage has been caused by the storage of Rubble, Building Materials and the  Heavy Plant continually tracking across the inside areas.

Secondly please just give the population what we have always requested a Swimming Facility preferably with a Removeable Roof and the associated accessories such as Fitness Centre, Cafe, Bar and Restaurant together with a Safe Childrens Play Area.

Weston people and Visitors alike have all asked for this type of developement for at least the last Ten Years, but alas our Elected Councillors Don't Listen!!! Remember the People Elected You and they can Just as Easily Eject You at the Next Election. Your Choice now is the Time to Listen and Act! Remember our town motto "Ever Forward" or perhaps now is the Time to Change it to "Never Listen to the People"

Definately bring back the pool - who will pay for it, or who will the Council allow to pay for it?  Is there any merit in setting up a Charity and applying for a grant to either the Government or the Lottery, to build a pool?  It's an idea I haven't heard voiced yet and might have some merit - I am definately interested in hearing what others think along these lines.

For heaven's sake do something.  ANYTHING! but don't just leave it to fall further and further into disrepair. Preferably restore it as most people seem to wish - a swimming facility but, if that can't be done, then knock it down and remove the eyesore!

Leaving the building to just crumble is a waste - like the other buildings in the area. Maybe we should pool together fun options for it? Massage parlour? Snooker hall? I don't think I want it to be a grotty pool again.

If money was not the issue....... Make Weston's seafront the best in Britain by reintroducing the Lido. Totally free. With the "sea" the only thing really missing in Weston it would be lovely to swim in a pool on the seafront. No need for heating, no need for a roof and used entirely at own risk. Im sure that small businesses ie; a tea room or chip stop would make oodles of cash sat next to a Lido........ what a shame 'cos I know that it will never happen.

The Tropicana has to be re-built as a swimming pool, with a fixed glass roof for all year use or a retractable one.  But what I want to know is..... How many of us locals that keep going on about what should happen to the Tropicana, will actually support and use the facility on a regular basis?

Why is the Council ignoring the 25 000 signatures who were taken to 10 Downing Street by Richard Whittington in 2008?
The 25 000 people wanted what the majority of the above are saying: a swimming pool with extra facilities, which will bring more tourists to Weston than any blocks of flats or casinos would. We used to take our kids regularly when it was open.
Like someone said, we elected you but you are ignoring us!
See you at the next election.
