STAR studded celebrities are preparing to head to Weston-super-Mare to perform in this year's pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.
Evil forces will be at play when a far from sleepy production of the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty is brought to life next month (December) in true pantomime style at the Playhouse Theatre.
For pantomime producers Paul Holman Associates, this will be the first time they have presented Sleeping Beauty at the theatre and this new production promises to hold true to the great traditions of the seasonal treat that's a must on every family's calendar.
In a show action-packed with adventure and audience participation, Sleeping Beauty will be brimming with true talent including Lorraine Chase and X factor duo, Same Difference.
Lorraine Chase started life as a model and was first catapulted into the nation's living rooms with a hugely successful advertising campaign which penned two popular catch phrases; "Nah Luton Airport" and "Nice 'ere innit?"
The advert went on to make TV history as one of the most memorable and popular of all time.
Lorraine will also be known to millions for her four years in Emmerdale as the unpredictable Stephanie Stokes, as well as previously appearing as Dolly Clothespeg in the children's smash-hit series Worzel Gumidge.
More recently she has appeared on This Morning, Casualty, The Bill, Lock Stock, My Family and last year Lorraine parachuted 12,000 feet into I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here.
Now she takes to the stage as the wicked fairy Carabosse in this classic fairy tale where she will join a cast packed full of talent including Sean and Sarah Smith, AKA Same Difference, for rehearsals on December 3.
Same Difference won over the nation in the fourth season of the UK reality TV show The X Factor, where they reached the final and finished third.
In a role perfectly made for her, Sarah will be waving the wand of sweetness and magic as the lovely Lilac Fairy who battles with the evil Fairy Carabosse, who has cast a spell on Princess Aurora.
Sean will be a dashing Prince sent to awaken the Princess with a magical kiss, and with his real life handsome hero looks, he's sure to break a few hearts too!
The production also sees the hugely popular return of father and son act, Simmons and Simmons and Terry Gleed, who together stormed the Playhouse with their comedy madness and mayhem in Aladdin last Christmas.
Simmons and Simmons will be returning to direct and appear as the calamitous King and comedy Chamberlain, promising to raise the roof once more with their riotous routines.
Having won the hearts of Weston's young and old and making a popular return as Muddles will be the diminutive energy fuelled Terry Gleed, who delighted as Wishee Washee in Aladdin.
Every pantomime needs a dame and Nurse Katy Cough Drop will be delivering a diva sized performance as she prescribes laughter and comedy for all the family.
Audiences are guaranteed plenty of toe-tapping, hand-clapping, sing-a-long songs, comedy, stunning costumes and scenery straight out of a magical, enchanting land of dreams.
Sleeping Beauty will be at the Playhouse, Weston-super-Mare, from December 13, 2012- January 6, 2013. Tickets, priced from £13.50 are available on 01934 645 544 or online at http://tinyurl.com/ckzqxvr
