COMEDY fans prepare for some side splitting humour as world renowned comedian Rich Hall embarks on a UK tour visiting The Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare.
Rich Hall, the grouchy, deadpan, comic genius quit his job as a hurricane namer for the United States Meteorological Service two decades ago and has not looked back.
He has written and presented his own TV shows in the UK including BBC 4 documentaries 'Rich Hall's Inventing The Indian', 'Rich Hall's Continental Drifters', 'Rich Hall's The Dirty South'', 'How The West Was Lost' plus Channel 4's topical late night show 'Stand Up For The Week' .
He also wrote and starred in Rich Hall's Cattle Drive, Rich Hall's Election Special and Rich Hall's Fishing Show with Mike Wilmot.
Fans can see the king of rapid-fire wit from Montana discuss a variety of topics in his new show all delivered in his own hilarious unique way.
Looking like a Pearl Jam roadie, Rich is a master of absurdist irony and particularly likes to lay into Americans and life across the Pond at every opportunity.
'An evening spent in the company of this American hero is one of the most gratifying and (yes) joyful experiences to be had on the comedy circuit' – The Independent.
'Creeps up on you and ambushes your funny bone like no one else' – The Scotsman.
Rich Hall won critical acclaim across the Globe after appearing in the guise of his alter-ego Otis Lee Crenshaw, a redneck jailbird from Tennessee, who has been married seven times, all to women named Brenda.
A singer-songwriter, Otis writes bourbon-soaked, Tom Waitsian tunes and blends this with audience banter, producing a perfect fusion of music and comedy.
Since creating the character in 1998 Rich Hall has been charming sell-out audiences each year at the Edinburgh Festival, throughout the UK, and at several festivals in Australia.
Rich Hall is well known in the United States for appearing and writing on The David Letterman Show – for which he won two Emmy Awards and Saturday Night Live.
Back on our shores he will be recognised for his appearances on Have I Got News For You, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, Jack Dee's Sunday Service and Edinburgh Nights.
Rich is also an accomplished author having released three books, Magnificent *******s, I Blame Society and Things Snowballs, all released by Abacus Books.
Now it is your chance to see the comedy legend up close for one night only in Weston-super-Mare.
"Rich Hall" will be at the Playhouse, Weston-super-Mare, on Saturday 4 May, at 8pm. Tickets priced £15 are available on 01934 645 544 or online at http://tinyurl.com/ckzqxvr
