A Weston-super-Mare children's charity is appealing for volunteers to join its fundraising group.
The Friends of Springboard is a small group of dedicated volunteers who raise funds for Springboard Opportunity Group, which supports North Somerset children with disabilities and additional needs.
Over the past few years, The Friends of Springboard have organised sponsored swims, summer fun days, and all sorts of other fundraising events. Being a member is a rewarding and fun experience; but the group has recently lost a couple of long-serving members, and hopes to attract some new fundraisers to the cause.
To this end, The Friends of Springboard are holding their inaugural AGM at 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 6 at Springboard's headquarters, 2a Princes Road, Clevedon.
Springboard's manager, Joanne Harris, said: "The purpose of the meeting is to approve a newly drafted constitution for the group; to appoint a new chairperson, new treasurer, and new secretary; to attract new members; and to discuss forthcoming events.
"If you are interested in donating some of your spare time to a worthwhile cause, you would be most welcome to come along to find out more."
In the meantime, if you would like to find out more about the work Springboard does in North Somerset, you can contact the charity through email at: info@springboardweb.org.uk; or via phone on 01275 341113.
