Vue Cinemas have been confirmed as the first tenant of the regenerated Dolphin Square in Weston-super-Mare.
The national operator will be providing an up to date eight screen, 1000 seat cinema in the heart of the £35m town centre scheme.
Simon Berry, Director of McLaren Life, said: "We are delighted that Vue has committed to Dolphin Square and Weston and will be providing a 21st century facility that rivals anything in the West of England.
"This letting is the first piece of a jigsaw that will give residents and visitors the facilities the town deserves and ones that continue the regeneration of the west country's most important resort."
The cinema will be equipped with the most advanced digital projection and sound equipment and will also have 3D facilities to a selection of screens.
Luxurious seating, including large VIP seats, on full stadium type terracing will be provided to give uninterrupted views of the huge screens.
Geoff Moore of Vue said: "Vue are very excited at the prospect of creating a state of the art multiplex cinema for the people of Weston super Mare.
"Overall Vue are committed to providing a fantastic, customer friendly cinema and create what is likely to be the most technologically advanced cinema in the South West."
McLaren Life will be submitting a planning application for the scheme before Christmas.
