AFTER an indulgent festive period are you feeling like you need to get healthy in 2011?

Weightwatchers

This weight loss programme uses the ProPoints plan giving you a ProPoints budget for the week.

It consists of a daily allowance (based on your gender, age, weight and height) that ensures you’re eating enough for good health. On top of this you get a weekly allowance which you can use as and when you like over the week.

Courses

North Somerset Council has teamed up with the Go4Life campaign to run a seven-week group.

The course, which involves lots of activities to help people learn and remember the top ways to keep fit and to feel better about themselves, is open to all North Somerset residents over the age of 19, but people must register in advance.

The first session will take place at Weston’s Hutton Moor Leisure Centre from 10am-12.30pm on February 1 and will run for seven weeks.

Esporta boasts a fantastic range of state-of-the-art facilities including a swimming pool, gym and over 45 work out regimes ranging from yoga to line dancing.

The gym has cardiovascular, toning and weight areas, Power Plate and for those who don’t know where to start you can get personal training with programmes tailored to your needs and requirements.

The pool is 25meters long 12 Metres wide and 1.2 Metres deep and when you have had enough of swimming head off to the hydro spa and steam room.

Prices are £49 a month or £39 for concession.

If you want to find out more without committing you can get a free guest pass for one day to try it out.

Hutton Moor boasts a swimming pool, teaching pool, 55 station gym, group fitness studio, Sports hall, squash courts and tennis courts.

It is offering a deal where you can go to the gym for free in December and January if you join before January 31.

Or for £35 you can buy a 30 day Expressions Fitness membership, which entitles the user to full use the facilities, with no long term commitment.

The gift voucher includes a free induction on a first visit.

Normal prices are £30 a month for gym pass. The spa area with steam room, sauna and spa pool ranges between £5 and £6 depending on the time of your visit.

Sweat. FA is the largest gym in Weston and has an extensive weights area. Equipment includes Sportesse selectorised machines and Hammer strength plate loaded equipment with movement motion technology. 

There is also a great cardio equipment selection of USA PRECOR equipment bikes, cross trainers, treadmills, steppers, spinning bikes and concept 2 rower machines.

If you join between January and March it costs £4.61 a week and you can also get personal training from £10!

Normal prices are £29.99 a month for unlimited gym use or £35.99 for unlimited use plus seven classes a month. A £30 joining fee also applies.

Or it is £55.99 for gym use and kickboxing. Off peak memberships are also available upon request for £19.99 with no joining fee.

There is also a gym only couple membership costing £49.99 with a £49.99 joining fee.

Trimwise gym also boasts a gym, toning tables, fitness classes, sun beds, and squash courts. You can also get 12 personal training sessions for £1.25 a session.

Also there is an incentive here to lose weight as the club will give you £1 for every lb of weight you lose!

Want to give it a try then you can get a free trial session and even a free sun bed session by filling in a form online.

Body Tone Gym offers a top level training facility for an affordable price. At the moment it is offering a three year deal where you will only have to pay £15.99 a month.

The gym boasts weights, running machines, exercise bikes and cross trainers and an and crunching machine.

Personal training is also available on request.
