Weston-super-Mare Hairdresser on Weakest Link

Weston-super-Mare hairdressing salon owner and current OMC World Hairdressing Champion Steven Smart has been invited to appear on the hairdressers’ special edition of the Weakest Link.

Steven Smart owner of SMART: EST 73 hair salon in Weston is trying to prove he is the smartest and not the weakest link on the BBC’s world wide hit game show, this week on BBC 1.

The show was recorded a couple of months ago which has caused Steven a few problems as he was sworn to secrecy by the producers.

Steven said "As soon as people knew I had been on the show they were dying to know how I got on and when it was to be aired.

"It has been really difficult trying not to tell anyone. My family know but everyone else will have to watch and find out and maybe have a laugh at my expense."

Anne Robinson is the infamous host of the series, making contestants crumble with her wit and cutting remarks about them.

Steven added: "There isn’t anything Anne can say to me that I haven’t had said to me before, or worse by my friends or brothers."

Steven is hoping that he does his home town proud and hopefully dispel the myth about hairdressers lack of intelligence.

Although he adds: "It can be quite difficult to hear the questions, there is some pressure and distractions whilst playing the game, at least, that is my excuse for some of the very embarrassing answers I gave."
