A SOMERSET garden centre is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support’s national ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ this month by offering customers free tea and coffee for a donation to the charity.

Sanders GardenWorld in Brent Knoll is inviting people to join in with the coffee morning it is hosting in aid of the charity on Friday, September 24 from 9am-12noon.

Peter Burks, General Manager of Sanders GardenWorld, said: “We are holding the coffee morning to help raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

"We will be providing free tea and coffee between 9am and 12noon and inviting customers to make a donation to the charity.

“We hope lots of people from the area come along to the event and help us support this worthy cause.”

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship event.

Last year more than 43,000 official coffee mornings were held, raising more than £7.9million for the charity.

This year Macmillan is hoping to beat its target of £8million.

Charles Byrne, Head of Corporate Partnerships and Events at Macmillan Cancer Support, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support from Sanders GardenWorld.

“There are more than two million people in the UK affected by cancer and every penny raised has helped us to reach more people who need our support.”

Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer, providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
