COMMUNITY EVENTS

Weston-super-Mare Town Council Community Show

Saturday 26th & Sunday 27th June 2010

Building on the success of last year's Weston In Bloom Community Show, this year's Show on the Beach Lawns is set to be bigger and better.

Rebranded as the Weston-super-Mare Town Council Community Show, this year's event will provide a fun and interactive way to raise awareness of local businesses and organisations and help the local community engage and get more involved with what Weston has to offer. What better way to do it than with a weekend of family fun?

Entrance to the Show is free and there will be an action packed programme with displays and exhibitions from local charities, children's entertainment, rides, face painting, a multi-cultural and local produce food tent and much more.

Local company, Emarty Productions, will be providing the stage, sound and lighting to allow for a weekend of musical and dance entertainment. On Saturday 26th, the stage will play host to a programme of local bands and musicians, organised and supported by degree students from Weston College.

On Sunday, local group, Positive Creative Contributions, will be hosting the 'Festival of Positivity', showcasing the talents of local dance and community groups including majorette displays, tae kwon do demonstrations and a choir.

Three marquees, including one sponsored by Weston In Bloom, will provide the focal point for local businesses and organisations to promote their products and services as well as offer demonstrations and workshops for visitors to the Show.

Trade stall spaces are still available and anyone wanting more information or to book a stand should contact the Community & Leisure Officer on 01934 632575.
