POLICE believe a man they have named in connection with the rape of a teenage girl, is now living in southern England.

They say Thomas Anthony Fleet, 22, is wanted in relation to an incident which happened at a house in a Shropshire village during October last year (2009).

His details and an appeal for public information were issued on the BBC Crimewatch programme last night (Dec 14).

Detective Inspector Sarah Wagstaff, of West Mercia Police, said: "Mr Fleet went missing from his home in north Shropshire earlier this year.

"He is a suspect in this case and we are anxious to trace him.

"We believe he is living rough, travelling around the country and using a cover story that he is hiding from police over a burglary.

"However, we have information which suggests he is currently in the south of the country."

She said Mr Fleet, who is know as Tom or Ant, has links to various parts of the country, especially Surrey, London, Wiltshire, Dorset, Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall and South Wales.

DI wagstaff added: "We believe he is making his way around by various means, using public transport, hitch-hiking and by foot, raising money through busking, playing an acoustic guitar and a penny whistle."

Mr Fleet is described as white, 5ft 4ins tall with straight brown hair, which was slightly longer than in the photo when last seen.

He could also now have a beard which may be shaped into a goatee style.

He may also be carrying a distinctive Peter Storm 75-litre green and black rucksack, with pockets at the back and sides.

Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is asked to contact Shrewsbury police station on 0300-333-3000, or the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800-555-111, for which a reward may be paid.

i grew up in the same town as anthony and although i have no information based on his wareabouts, what may be of relevance is that he is also know for his violent capabilities, especially when it comes to 'chavs' attacking homeless people, it may be a case of finding him through random crimes involving people living on the street. furthermore on expectations of behaviour he is quite gymnastic as he used to show off his breakdancing abilities and other gymnastic manouvers. he may be found using any of these skills as a means of busking or in the possibility of getting involved in community projects on voluntary basis. he had done so previously for llanfyllin high school in showing his ability. it may be a relating circumstance to the fact that he can become close to younger people and be idolised by the naive through his impressive skills. it was previously thought by those who knew him that he would stop his attacks after being caught, however its apparent that he is mentally disorientated in his sexual direction. also, if teh photo given is old, he is likely to be a lot less recognised as he has a heavy beard.
i mostly doubt he will be found in powys, llanfyllin particualarily as he has been extrodited from his social network and has been put on a hit register to those who know him and what he has done, he would be at too much risk returning to a hostile enviroment.
