Police in North Somerset are reminding car and van owners to leave their vehicles secure after a spate of thefts in the area.
In the past two weeks (1 – 15 July, 2010), there were 33 crimes reported where tools, cash, satellite navigation systems, iPods and PSP games were stolen from cars, vans and lorries.
Sgt Dave Hayward said: "Your car is one of your most valuable assets, so don't run the risk of it being damaged.
"Thieves will break your window for just a small amount of loose change, so remove all valuables even if you are only leaving them unattended for a short amount of time.
"Ensure your property is security marked and keep a note of makes, models and serial numbers.
"Remember to always lock your vehicle and park in well-lit, busy areas. And when you're home keep your keys out of sight and away from doors and windows."
Please report any suspicious behaviour by calling 0845 456 7000.
