Hardy Plants Manager, Claire Smith from Sanders Garden World joins flower girls from Weston Operatic Society’s production of My Fair Lady. With Claire are, from left, flower girls Cheryl Stafford, Stephanie Cuttell (who plays Eliza Doolittle) and Leah Farmer.
Sanders Garden World has donated baskets full of cut and artificial flowers to Weston Operatic Society to help the crew of ‘My Fair Lady’ set the scene for their up-and-coming production.
Peter Burks, general manager of the garden centre, which is located at Brent Knoll, said: “We were absolutely delighted to help out when we heard the Society needed some extra flowers for a scene for its production of My Fair Lady.
“Many of the team here at Sanders Garden World are big fans of the show so were more than happy to offer a ‘bloomin’ lovely’ helping hand.
"The flowers will be used to decorate the stage during the scene in which the main character, Eliza Doolittle sells flowers to the more prestigious folk of Covent Garden in London.”
Eliza Doolittle is played by Stephanie Cuttell from Burnham-on-Sea.
My Fair Lady will be performed at The Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare from October 27 until 30 and tickets are available from the Theatre’s box office on 01934 645544.
