WEATHER warnings have been issued across parts of the country after the UK experienced its first snowfall this winter.

Snow did fall in Weston-super-Mare on Friday evening with residents waking up to a white winter scene on Saturday.

But by lunchtime the sunshine came out and began a meltdown of the little snow that settled.

Forcasters say the chance of a repeat snowfall in the resort is unlikely this week.

According to www.metcheck.co.uk, it shows partly cloudy or fair conditions until Thursday evening when there is a chance of rain.

However, by Saturday afternoon snow showers are forecast and again on Sunday.

Should the forecast be wrong and snow does fall parents can find details of any school closures on the North Somerset Council website.
