Weston College students learn to scuba dive as part of their enrichment programme
The students have been taking part in the Weston Dive Club's 'Try-Dive' scuba sessions at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre after signing up for the free course.
Weston Dive Club instructors have taken the group through the basics of scuba diving over three individual sessions. Students who want to take up scuba diving as a hobby or expand their horizons to enhance their career choices will be able to get a discount from Weston Dive Club so they can achieve accredited qualifications.
Dave Cook, Weston College's Activities and Sports Co-ordinator, said: “Enrichment at Weston College supports our learners in a variety of ways. Activities such as the Try-Dive Scuba Diving sessions enable them to develop by experiencing new situations, meeting new friends and having fun, all within the confines of a safe and positive learning environment.
“Enrichment activities encourage our learners to become rounded individuals and engage in sporting and non-sporting activities while completing their subject specific course.”
