A WOMAN from Weston-super-Mare who hopes to climb Mount Kilimanjaro is holding a fundraising night in the build up to her challenge.
Jodie Howe, 26, from Rossendale Close, Worle, is fundraising for Weston Hospicecare and hopes to raise more than £,2000 in a variety of events before her 2012 challenge.
She has arranged a Frock Exchange and Ladies Night at Double Tree Cadbury House Hotel, Congresbury, on March 17, at 7pm.
Jodie said: “I wanted to do something that would be a real challenge, and they don’t come much bigger than Mt Kilimanjaro.
“The Frock Exchange and ladies night is going to be a brilliant evening.
“The more items you donate, the more you take home.”
To take part turn up with a dress or smart outfit and exchange it for someone else’s outfit for free.
The £2,000 Jodie aims to raise would keep the whole of the In-patient Unit pain free for nearly 3 months.
Tickets are £6 in advance by calling 01934 423960 or £8 on the door.
It costs £3 million a year to run Weston Hospicecare and only 20 per cent of that comes from the Government.
The hospice therefore relies heavily on the local community and events such as this to provide patients continuing care.
