For those interested in architecture, a short train ride from Bristol Temple Meads Station to Weston-super-Mare on the Somerset coast will reveal a wealth of eclectic Victorian architecture, much of it by the unsung Hans Price who was responsible for building most of the stone town, and all within comfortable walking distance of the High Street.

Some photographic examples can be seen on this facebook link: Weston-super-Mare Inspirational Architecture, Views and Landmarks http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?ref=profile&id=1598130647#!/album.php?aid=2025060&id=1598130647&ref=mf.
Also of interest in Weston-super-Mare is Regent Gallery off the High Street which shows some of the best fine art by West Country and Scottish artists – well worth a visit http://www.regentgallery.co.uk
Just one of the many lovely buildings in the town centre is The Old Lodge of St Kew, architect Hans Price (1835-1912), at one time the masonic lodge and now home to The Constitutional Club. It is situated on the corner of Longton Grove Road and Boulevard (opposite the Mercury Newspaper building, another by Price, in a very different style) – just some of many examples of Price’s eclectic style in Weston-super-Mare
