The Weston Hospicecare Christmas bazaar, Nov 7, 2009.
Make a head-start on the Christmas shopping by snapping up some bargains at the Weston Hospicecare Christmas Bazaar this weekend.
The annual event raises vital funds for the Hospice at Uphill, which provides care for about 1100 people with life-limiting illnesses in the North Somerset area and neighbouring parts of Somerset.
The bazaar takes place on Saturday, November 7, from 2pm to 4.30pm at Weston Hospicecare’s Jackson-Barstow House, 28 Thornbury Road, Uphill.
There will be a range of stalls on the day including a cake stall, raffle, tombola, toy stall, books, plants, Christmas gifts and cards, refreshments, jewellery and a lucky dip.
Weston Hospicecare fundraiser Sue Sweet said: “The annual Weston Hospicecare Christmas Bazaar is a great opportunity for people to start their Christmas shopping, while at the same time providing vital funds to the Hospice, which relies so much on the support from the community it serves.”
Entry to the bazaar is 50p, but it’s free for under 16s.
Organisers are hoping to raise more than ever this year as Weston Hospicecare has recently launched an appeal for £160,000 to meet the increased demand for its services.
The charity, which is also celebrating its 20th anniversary, is asking people to Do Just One Thing this year to help it raise the money it needs to keep providing its vital and highly-valued service.
Whether it’s abseiling off a building, having a big breakfast, or holding an event at your local pub, the Hospice needs your support to continue to provide excellent levels of care.
