WESTON-SUPER-MARE: Police believe a man who used to live in the resort may have returned after absconding from Leyhill Prison near Thornbury.
Dennis Alford, pictured, was last seen at the prison more than a month ago, at about 1pm on Tuesday August 3.
But an appeal for information about his whereabouts was not issued until yesterday when police called for the public’s help in tracking him down. They say the 39-year-old has a good knowledge of the area.
Alford was serving a sentence of four years and nine months for burglary and possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.
He white, about 5ft 8in tall and slim, with short brown hair.
