I am a Westonian Born and Bred and Proud of it. I have always cared about our Town and it's Community and there are many others who feel the same. All we all need is the support of the Local Authority in ensuring that our town doesn't stagnate by allowing buildings and areas to continue to fall into disrepair. We now have a Fantastic New Grand Pier, New Sea Front together with other Major Attractions which should help to attract more visitors to the town in the coming years. 2012 hasn't been the best of years with the Summer and Autumn experiencing some of the heavist rainfall and flooding on record. Hopefully better things to come.
The way in which North Somerset Council does its business, it is ruled by a group of Executive Members instead of all Elected Councillors who are far too Dictatorial this is not Democratic in my book! All the delays associated with re-developing the former Tropicana (Weston Open Air Pool) Site. It is about time that North Somerset Council supported local wishes and ideas, develope the site and give us all a Major Swimming Facility with allied Facilities such as Fitness Centre, Cafes and Restaurant/Bar. Our town has almost doubled in size since Hutton Moor Pool was opened and Knightstone Swimming Bath Closed, the demand for Swimming Facilities is now greater than it has ever been and our present facilities cannot meet these demands.
