Having been bowled out for a meagre 16 the previous weekend, Hampset managed to chase down a target of 187 to record only their fourth win of the season.
Jonathan Solly led the way, smashing 11 fours and a six as he provided the backbone of Hampset’s reply with a fine 68. Alex Lear (40no) and Will Holden (15no) completed the job by sharing in an unbroken stand of 32 for the sixth wicket.
Alex Davis (4-42) and Jonathan Flagg (4-54) had earlier been the pick of the bowlers as Bristol Asians failed to reach the 200 mark, despite a fine unbeaten 72 from Shoaib.
Neil Hucker hit a last-ball boundary to clinch an exciting victory for
The tail-ender came to the crease with the visitors at 147-8, with just three overs left, as they attempted to overhaul Chew Magna’s total of 164.
Hucker took control and calmly scored vital runs to leave Timsbury needing two off the last three balls. He failed to score off the first couple but danced down the wicket to score the decisive four.
Hucker finished on 14 not out and his heroics ensured the earlier good work by captain Mark Sage (34), Dave Pippett (37) and David Filer (42) did not go to waste.
Filer’s fine knock completed a good day for the Timsbury man against his former club. He had earlier taken 3-41 with the ball as Chew Magna were restricted to a gettable total, with Ettle (2-24) and Clothier (2-15) wrapping up the tail.
Pick of the wickets was a stunning caught-and-bowled by Jez Hare to remove the dangerous Denning (24).
Paul Cracknell (80) and Rob Sage (57) shared in a big stand as Timsbury 3rds beat Weston-super-Mare 4ths by 159 runs, having set a target of 280-9.
Timsbury 4ths lost by a single run to Aston, despite Mike Tucker hitting 65 and Rob Burville taking 5-33.
